Transport network company Uber on Tuesday said it will comply starting on Aug. 15 with the one-month suspension order issued by the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
Uber issued an official statement on their Facebook page, announcing that they are complying with LTFRB's suspension order. They also sent an e-mail blast to their riders.
In an interview with LTFRB Spokesperson Aileen Lizada on Monday, Uber violated its July 26 memorandum to transport network companies to stop accepting applications for accreditation of transport network vehicle services (TNVS) and their eventual approval or activation.
Lizada said while Grab followed this order, meanwhile Uber activated at least three vehicles right the next day.
The suspension will start effective Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 6:00 AM and will last for a month. There are 66,000 Uber drivers who ply the roads for a living nationwide.
