Android Oreo has finally arrived

It's official! - Android officially unveils Oreo as the official trademark for the eighth version of the mobile operating system (OS). It was unveiled on Monday, August 21st, on the same day with the total Solar Eclipse in the United States.


Google, the makers of the said mobile operating system, has made a licensing partnership with Mondelez International, the parent company of the Oreo brand, in using the name on all of its campaigns and promotions.

Some of the improvements that can be seen in this version will be the limited background processes which can result to longer battery life, a picture-in-picture mode so you can multitask. improvements in the camera app, and with up to 60 new emojis.


Google is not new to partnerships related to Android, as it had forged a partnership with Nestle to launch KitKat as the name for Version 4.4 back in 2013.

Android Oreo is expected to hit Pixel devices first, followed by Nexus and capable Android One devices. several phone manufacturers have all expressed interests to launch new devices or update existing ones to the newest version by the end of the year.
